
Matthew David Goodwin is an Associate Professor in the Chicana/o Studies Department at the University of New Mexico. His research is centered on Chicanx/Latinx science fiction, immigration, digital culture, and Critical Mystery Studies. He is a co-editor of the Latinx Archive speculative fiction trilogy: Latinx Rising, Speculative Fiction for Dreamers, and Not Your Papi’s Utopia. His study The Latinx Files: Race, Migration, and Space introduces the field of Latinx science fiction and demonstrates how the alien has been reclaimed by Latinx creators. He has a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is an active agent in the Albuquerque office of the very much real Speculative Detective Agency.
